By Mental Emotions
Pain often arrives uninvited, quietly claiming space in our hearts before we even realize what has happened. This poem is a conversation with pain itself, a raw acknowledgment of captivity, heartbreak, and the reluctant acceptance of a journey shaped by sorrow.
Dear Pain
You roamed the world, hunting your next victim,
and little did I know, I was chosen.
A prisoner in your shadowed realm,
no escape, no open doors, no windows.
You are a dark room,
filled with heartbreak and tears,
and I, unwittingly left my own trail of sorrow behind.
I became your captive, bound by fate,
How can you be so cruel with my love?
How can you find joy in my tears?
I’ve learned to accept this destiny with you,
so, here’s to the next chapter
another journey through tears and heartbreak.
Reflection
Pain does not always leave when we ask it to. Sometimes, it stays long enough to change us, to teach us endurance, and to force us to confront the depths of our own hearts. Dear Pain, is not a surrender, but an acknowledgment that even in captivity, there is awareness, and in awareness, the quiet beginning of strength.
